The Portageville School District has agreed to open the FEMA Building to elderly citizens in order to assist those with oxygen or other medical needs that may be disrupted in the event of a power outage. Caregivers will be allowed to accompany elderly individuals.
Please note that no animals will be allowed in the FEMA Building. Smoking, alcohol and weapons are also banned from the location.
A list of individuals who would like to utilize this service or may need help getting to the FEMA Building in case of an outage is being assembled. If you would like to be placed on the list, please contact City Hall by calling 573-379-5789 until 4:30 p.m. today (01/23/26). After 4:30 p.m., please contact Mayor Cook at 573-379-0235.
