Independence Day Closure and Trash Schedule

Public Notice: City of Portageville offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024 due to Independence Day. In the event of an emergency, please call the Portageville Police Department at 573-379-5500 and they will contact the appropriate supervisor.
Sharp's Disposal has notified the City that there will be changes to the trash pickup schedule for the week of July 1, 2024 through July 5, 2024 as they will be closed on Thursday and Friday in observance of Independence Day. If your normal pickup day is Monday, your trash will be picked up on Sunday, June 30, 2024. If your normal pickup day is Wednesday, your trash will be picked up on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. If your normal pickup day is Friday, your trash will be picked up on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Please remember your trash MUST be set out after 7:00 p.m. on the night before your pickup! The trucks may run earlier than normal due to the change in schedule and the rising temperatures in the afternoon, and will not be coming back for pickups who do not have their trash cans out.
