Potential Winter Storm for Portageville Residents

A widespread winter storm is expected to begin tonight and last through the weekend in the Portageville area. We could see freezing rain, sleet, ice, snow or a mixture of everything! What is certain is that our citizens will be faced with extremely cold temperatures that will last for several days. Please remember to check on your neighbors and those most vulnerable to extreme conditions during this time. If you are unable to get in touch with a friend or family member, and you feel like a wellness check is needed, you can call 9-1-1 for an officer to assist.
We would like to say thank you to citizens, organizations and surrounding agencies who have already pledged their time and resources as preparations are being made to deal with deteriorating conditions. We are grateful to be a part of a community that works together when faced with obstacles.
